1. Plan your storage like a pro

Make note of what you actually use in your kitchen. Group items into three categories: daily essentials, occasional-use pieces, and "why do I still have this?" Get rid of anything you don’t need and store seldom-used items in less accessible spaces. Keeping your everyday tools close to hand will make cooking so much easier.

2. Maximise your cabinet space

Tall wall cabinets are brilliant for squeezing every inch out of your vertical space – perfect for those "just in case" items you don’t need every day. If you’re after something that packs an even bigger punch, larder units could be your answer. They offer up to 50% more usable storage than a wall and base unit combination. Letting you stack shelves, add pull-out drawers, or even tuck away small appliances.

3. Make corners work for you

Corners don’t have to be wasted space. Install a corner carousel or pull-out corner storage to make everything accessible. This is a great way to avoid losing items to the dark depths of your cupboards.

4. Choose the right drawers

Deep drawers are perfect for pots and pans, while shallow ones keep cutlery and utensils tidy. Full-extension drawers make it easy to see everything at a glance – no more rummaging in the depths! Add drawer dividers to keep things organised and create dedicated spots for all your bits and bobs.

Proper storage isn’t just about tidiness – it helps keep your ingredients fresher for longer. Invest in airtight containers for flour and sugar. Keep bread in a sealed bag at room temperature, and store spices in a cool, dry spot out of direct sunlight.

8. Go for open shelving

9. Try a kitchen trolley

A wheeled kitchen trolley can double as extra storage and a mobile work surface. Use it for everything from prepping dinner to serving drinks at a party. You could even turn it into a makeshift coffee station, complete with your favourite mugs and a jar of biscuits. When not in use, simply tuck it away to save space.

12. Maximise under-sink storage

The cupboard under the sink is notoriously tricky to keep tidy, but it’s a storage goldmine for cleaning supplies, bin bags, tea towels, and all those bits and bobs without a home. Add tiered shelving or adjustable racks to make the most of this awkward space. Or make use of our Pebre under sink pull-out shelf. Perfect for keeping everything within easy reach.
