Our interactive tool will give you a full colour, 3D design from wallcoverings and paint to lighting and flooring. Add your perfect products into the design and play around with how you want your room to look and experiment with different themes and positions until you get it just right. Then save your project ready to book an appointment with one of our colleagues.

How our free design tool works

It’s so easy to use our design planner, just follow these simple instructions

1. Log into your account

• Go to diy.com - if you already have an account, log in, or create a new account.

• In your account, choose “My Projects” and start a new project.

2. Create your design

• Get inspired by browsing examples of our product ranges in full colour, 3D rooms.

• Choose a ready-made room template or enter your room measurements to start a new room from scratch.

• Create your perfect design using the products included in the planning tool.

3. Save, edit and share

• Remember you can save as many designs as you like, and once you are happy with your design, you can share it with family, friends, and tradespeople.

4. Book a free planning appointment

• Happy with your design or want some help? Don’t forget to book an appointment with one of our friendly design colleagues.

We've gathered some frequently asked questions to help you use our free design tool.

Yes, the online design tool is absolutely free to use.

To use the design tool and save your designs, you will need to have a B&Q online account.

A B&Q online account is completely free to join.

It is really easy to save your design - just click on the bottom left of the screen underneath where you add your room dimensions and it will save your design.

You can go back in and edit that design, or you can begin a new design.

You can make as many designs as you would like.

You can also edit any of the designs, and share them with other people like family and friends or tradespeople.

Our expert advisors are trained to help you with your saved designs. They will look through the designs with you to choose the one that suits you. They will give you a written, itemised quote, with a full price breakdown.

You will also have the opportunity to discuss and apply for our finance products as part of your appointment and discuss whether you need installation help.

The design tool runs on most PCs or laptops, providing you have access to the internet, and have a browser which supports WebGL 2.0 technology.

NB: The design tool is not available for mobile or through the app.
