Concluded the look we desired
Doesn't do much but looks fantastic. Perfect alternative to cover the hearth.

Nice tiles but wrong information on website
Love the tiles which I've had put down in my bathroom. However when I purchased them one of the main selling points was that stated do not need sealing. However, instructions on box clearly state that they must be sealed which has meant added expense and delay for the guy doing the tiling. B&Q should change product description

Easy to lay, look more expensive than they are
Great tiles... We bought 60m2 of these for a new kitchen / diner. They are easy to lay, and look far more expensive than they are. Look great with grey grout. Highly recommended!

The colour is not black
These tiles are not black, but a very weird shade of grey. I bought them as I needed to part refurbish my bathroom and don't match the existing black tiles at all. very disappointing.

Look Great & Good Price!
After deciding that actual slate tiles weren't very practical for a number of reasons, my partner and I found these slate effect tiles. The tiles arrived in perfect condition (no broken ones at all) and the lads who delivered them were incredibly helpful. Our builder has just laid the tiles in our kitchen/dining room and they look fantastic! He didn't have any problems cutting them at all, there were barely any wasted tiles - in fact, we've got 3 boxes to go back! The tiles are really good quality and look fab - they've got a very subtle shimmer to them and although they have the slight uneven finish like slight, they are more level, making installing our kitchen etc easier! I would highly recommend these tiles to anyone!

They cut just fine
Almost didn't buy these, but I bought a couple of packets before committing because of the review above saying you cant cut them. I can only presume the bloke above wasn't using the correct tools. I either use a 4.5" grinder with a bosch diamond blade or better still a 230V wet tile cutting bench. I would use the latter as it is less dusty and gets a dead straight cut. I am going to lay in staggered manner so I am cutting some tiles down to half size. Just started cutting a few to test them out and it took about 5-10 seconds per tile i.e. a 300mm straight cut (knife through butter). Did a dry cut with the grinder to test that and it was ok too, though a bit slower. I did a half depth cut and then broke alnog the cut over a pencil. Not as neat obviously but still only about a minute to cut, so would be fine for non-straight cuts. I think the tiles look pretty good for the price and are about £10/sqm cheaper than local tile specialists. If you are doing a lot of cutting then definitely buy a proper wet cutter - one of the best bits of kit I have ever bought!!!

Impossible to cut!
The tiles look great and honestly do look like slate. However they do not cut at all! first tile cutter litterly bent as they would not snap, then when I got another tile cutter that would snap them the tile snaps where ever it wants. Now trying with a tile saw but the tiles are so dense it is barely dinting it. I believe this is because the surface is even rougher then genuine slate!
