- Clunch is aptly named after the chalk stone used in building blocks widely used in East Anglian buildings. Although some people see it as a soft grey, it actually has a yellow base making it the easiest of colours to live with. Often contrasted with Pointing on woodwork for a fresher look or with Old White to create a traditional looking room that feels like it has always been that way. White & Light Tones Undercoat.

Just what I was looking for!
Clunch is such a soft warm neutral color with very muted yellow undertones and a hint of green in the mix. Here in the U.S. we are moving away from gray in favor of softer, warmer neutrals that are easy to live with. Clunch's chameleon-like quality complements so many other colors, making it very versatile. Not sure why it's an archived color.

Light but rich
I used Clunch in a very small condo to cover up the builder’s neutered grey. Instantly added warmth and depth to the room that I filled with pattern, texture, colour and vintage wood furniture. Cream, not stark white, is always the best backdrop for natural wood. I will definitely be using Clunch again.
