Avoid - buy a corded one instead...
Bought a month or so ago, and used only a handful of times. Thought cordless would prove quite worthwhile in those hard-to-reach areas, but a complete waste of time. The battery lasts about fifteen minutes, and then needs re-charging - which means you spend more time waiting for the thing to charge, than actually doing any sanding. I'd contemplated buying a second battery, but at another £25+, decided that I'd return this to my local B&Q. Thankfully they were obliging at providing a refund. Thing is, it works brilliantly, and is a lovely thing to hold and use. I've since bought the identical item, but corded. Save your money!

Don’t buy
Bought this sander as I have other Ryobi tools which are very good but I returned this sander the next day as it would not charge, the display box was filthy which leads me to think it had been on the shelf for a long time.

Battery
This sander was bought for me as a gift. Unfortunately the battery only lasts 18.5 minutes (yes, I timed it!) which really isn't very practical when you just want to get on and work. Great sander and really easy to use and comfy to hold, would highly recommend if you only want to sand one leg on a chair/table.

Battery defective out of the box- twice !
Returned the first unit I bought as the battery was defective. Initially the unit worked OK but the battery ran down after 5 minutes use so I put the battery in the charger. The LED light on the charger came on when plugged into mains but when the battery was inserted the light went out ( it is supposed to flash to indicate charging ) and the battery did not charge. The manual gives a list of fault codes which indicate a defective battery issue. I returned to store and was refunded. I bought a replacement unit from the same store and this had the exact same problem. My guess is that Ryobi have shipped a batch with faulty batteries which does not say a lot for their quality control. I was disappointed as the unit features are very good - precisely what I need , however I did not get the chance to put them to use.

A sander for home decorating.
This small sander is very useful for sanding most household woodwork prior to glossing. It manages one side of a panel door before needing a recharge. It is a useful addition to my toolbox.

Terrible battery life
I purchased this from b&q. First couple of uses I charged the battery as per instruction however reverted to a 110v corded equivalent as the battery only lasts 10 mins

Battery!
This is a pathetic product. The instructions are extremely poor with no clear indication on how the recharger works. Does the green light go on when charging or when charged. Does the green light go out when charged or not. Even if you wanted to avoid reading the schematics are useless. I THINK B&Q SHOULD OFFER A FULL REFUND ON THIS USELESS POWERLESS PRODUCT.

Neat bit of kit
Fits in the hand well, small and light, sucks up most of the residual dust and the batteries last well. hard to find any fault and lots to commend it.
