Awful stuff

Hasn't even lasted a year. Was done in August and is now all flaking off and in some bits totally came of. Total waste of money. And now can't get the same colour

Flaky, different shades, expensive! DONT BUY!!

After managing to track tins of the mountain green shade last summer, without paying exorbitant prices, I set to work covering my new decking. My first thought was you don't get much coverage per tin, my second thought was this stuff is water thin and final thought was, why did I buy this stuff!!? It was too late to start again I was fully invested and past any point of return. I did manage to get full coverage with a just about adequate depth of colour (albeit the shade from tins differed massively) but it was costly experience. Winter arrived and it was a nasty one to be fair BUT I didn't expect patches of decking paint to completely come away in some parts and flake away in most other areas, isn't this stuff supposed protect 5+ years !?? It didn't last 5 MONTHS !!!

Absolute Rubbish

I stained our decking last year and it is already flaking off in most areas, even those that aren't walked on. Looks terrible and now needs stripping off and doing again. The stain itself is very difficult to mix and there was a lot of residue at the bottom of the tins despite my best mixing efforts. It took 3 coats to cover bare wood. I'm really annoyed that I am going to have to strip and restain the decking after such a short period. Avoid!!

Expensive for poor results

Followed instructions on tin, stirred well, however when I got towards the bottom the tin I found a lot of thick sediment, probably explains poor colour finish, If you do purchase this product get the B&Q paint dept to use their machine to throughly mix it.

Did a good job

We choose this colour to fit into our small garden decor and applied it over old stain which I prepared first. Main problem was mixing it to reach the expected colour. I asked the B&Q paint desk to put it into their mixing machine which they did and that worked fine. It’s proving to be quite tough as we have moved some big garden pots around on it with no adverse affect on the stain.

BARBAGE

I HAVE PREPARED AND APPLIED THIS PRODUCT TO 3 AREAS OF DECKING APPROX 112SQM TOTAL THIS TIME LAST YEAR. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THIS PRODUCT THE AREAS THAT HAVE BEEN EXPOSED TO THE WINTER WEATHER HAVE DETERIORATED AND ARE BADLY FLAKING, AREAS THAT HAVE BEEN UNDER PROTECTION ( POTS AND BASES ETC) ARE FINE AND STILL ADHERED. THE WHOLE AREAS NEED TO BE CLEANED OFF BACK TO BARE TIMBER AND RESTAINED. I HAVE ANOTHER 70SQM THAT WERE TREATED AT THE SAME TIME WITH CUPRINOL (URBAN SLATE) THAT ARE FINE AND STILL LOOK LIKE NEW. I WOULD NOT SAY YOUR PRODUCT LAST TWICE AS LONG AS IT HAS NOT EVEN LASTED A YEAR CUPRINOL CLAIM 3-5 YEARS DEPENDING ON COLOUR SO 16 X 2.5L TINS OF YOUR PRODUCT (2 COATS) AT A COST FOR MATERIALS OF £500 NOW NEEDS RESTAINING. I WILL NEVER USE THIS AGAIN I WILL BE USING CUPRINOL IN THE FUTURE

ABSOLUTE RUBBISH

This product is rubbish. Ultimate protection -my foot. The decking was well prepared - jet washed and sanded - it took me weeks to get it back to bare wood. I painted it early evening so that it didn't dry too quickly and over a few days. It takes more than two coats to achieve the colour. I first used it three years ago and made the mistake of choosing green and gave it three coats. It needed repainting within weeks as the paint started to wear off but decided to wait until the next year. Last year the colour was no longer available so I chose Mountain Green. It took five coats to cover over the previous colour and as I have a larger area it took 12 tins. Same result - it comes off easily and the rain doesn't help either. the slightest movement of maybe a deck chair scratched the decking down to the bare wood. Bearing in mind that there is now eight coats of this stain. My decking area is merely used as a sun lounging area nothing more. Sadly I have to continue using it as I cant cover over the green colour. I would not recommend this at all.
