You can apply this hardwood garden furniture stain from the Ronseal Hardwood range to , using a brush, to colour and provide protection. It takes 1 hour to dry and will cover up to 16 m² per litre on average.

- Instructions for Use - Thoroughly stir the tin, then test the colour of the stain on a small patch to check you’re happy with it. Apply the first coat and brush in the direction of the wood grain. Wait four hours for the first coat to dry. For the best results, apply three coats leaving four hours between each. Wait two days for the stain to have completely dried and hardened before using the furniture.

Bought this to stain decking posts took 3 coats to get it as dark as I want it but it looks good finished

Brilliant results
I bought this as an alternative to teak oil for my garden table and chairs. I'd got sick of doing this laborious task annually, with not particularly great results anyway. I was dubious whether I'd like the finish it would give as I didn't want them to appear too dark or shiny. I've got to say that the finished job is really pleasing. I was diligent in ensuring all areas of the surface were covered & used one of the Dial brushes to apply. This came in a pack of several widths too, & lasted well for the application of this job. I'd bought the Restorer too, but tried an application of just this stain first, & was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't required. All I did was wash down the entire table and chairs to remove any cobwebs, algae etc and allowed to dry off before applying the stain. I did coat as directed, 3 times, but would say only the visible surfaces needed the full 3 coats as the undersides were covered sufficiently to protect them. Brilliant result that has spurred me to use on steamer chairs & other garden furniture. Be sure to choose the right shade & don't opt for too dark. The depth of colour isn't obvious until all coats have been applied, but I'd recommend this English Oak for a deep golden colour. Highly recommend.

Transformed my bench
I was fortunate to be in the right place at the right time and 'acquired' a bench from a local designer outlet store for a charitable donation. The bench needed dismantled and fully sanded. I used this product giving the wood three coats to give it the maximum guaranteed protection.
