- Guarantee - Statutory
- Surface Preparation - Ensure the room is warm and ventilated. To prepare the wood for varnishing, give the surface a wipe down with a cloth and white spirit to remove wax, grease, dirt and oil. Use 120 grit sandpaper to give the surface a quick sand and smooth out any rough patches. If the wood has an old coating on it, sand away the peeling, loose and flaking bits so the surface is even. Let the dust settle and wipe it away with a damp cloth. Leave the wood to dry thoroughly before varnishing.
- Instructions for Use - Give your varnish a stir, and test the colour on a hidden patch to make sure you’re happy with it. It may darken your wood slightly but it should bring out its natural colour. If you’re happy with how it looks, apply an even layer of the varnish painting in the direction of the woodgrain. Wait one hour for the coat to dry. You will need two to three coats for complete coverage and protection. Before you apply your final coat (whether that’s the second or third), sand down the surface and wipe the dust off with a cloth. This will help your final coat stick smoothly and will give you a perfect finish.

More work than it needs to be
It doesn't go very far because it's so thin. You're putting on 4/5 coats to get it to be smooth and shiny. The drying times seem incorrect as I have left it for 24 hours and picked up the object and its still slightly tacky. It does leave bubbles as well, I had to sand with 800 grit to get the smooth finish I wanted. Would not buy it again, time consuming and also the bottom on the tin was black which ended up on the brush.

Bit of a letdown, but does the job
Bit disappointed with this. When I bought it I assumed it was the modern equivalent of polyurethan varnish which was thick, pungent and gave a very good surface with very few coats required. By contrast, this stuff is odour-free, thin, and milk-like. It requires more coats to give an equivalent finish. On the plus side, it's easier to apply and less smelly, and cleaning paintbrushes afterwards is far quicker. I suppose it's the price we pay for being more evironmentally-friendly.

Scratches extermely easily!
I'm really disappointed with this. I did two coats on our window sills but a few days later our fingers had left marks on it and when you try to buff it with a microfibrecloth, it scratches!! Will now have to start again with a different varnish.
