A total Godsend
Struggled to get a new very expensive Pelipal Fokus Vanity unit Clicker Waste to seal for many evenings, tried Silicone, Plumbers Mate etc still leaked. Saw great reports of this seal on the Internet so I purchased one and without the use of any other sealant I fitted this kit using Washing up liquid on the Clicker Waste thread to ease the force required to screw the rubber seal up to the sealing point against the Overflow connector. Tested and perfect seal first time, why don't the Clicker Waste and Monobloc tap companies supply this kit instead of the ineffective Silicone seals that they send with the new tap set, which are totally ineffective and always allow a leak down the threads past the large nut.

Absolutely superb product, sealed sink first time
Had to replace a leaking waste on a sink. Had an absolute nightmare trying to seal the new waste, no matter what I tried it still leaked. The issue seems to be that most wastes are supplied with plastic threaded washers which compress a thin rubber seal. The seal just doesn't close all the gaps, and the water ends up leaking down the waste threads. I also tried to supplement the seals with clear silicone, but this still didn't seal it. I was close to calling a plumber then came across this product (basin mate). Basically you just apply a bit of fairy liquid to the inside of the rubber thread, then screw it on (smaller side facing towards the sink). Takes a while to screw it all the way to the top and it's quite hard work, but once tight it sealed first time. No silicone needed. I've bought a couple of these and will just keep in the plumbing box now. Absolutely fantastic.

Why did I not get this sooner!!!
After struggling with a pedestal basin on a bathroom and putting it in and taking it out 3 times I did some research and got this. The next basin I install I won’t bother to install without this neat piece of kit.

Check first that your waste pipe is long enough
i got one of these after seeing U tube video, problem is if you fit this you may not have enough waste pipe to screw on he plastic pipe. Check first ....I still have a leak with kit provided with my pop up waste ...looks like will have to use sealant.!!!

stopped the leaks
Tried 4 times to seal a new waste. the first one of these I had to cut off as I found that the thread on the waste was too short. So got a longer waste and fitted this and no leaks. It is a bit hard to fit over the threads and the plastic washer was hard to get to seat but hey it doesn't leak

Useful and worth buying!
You have to ram this in to make it work. We had to take the taps out, and turn the basin over to get the sealer in properly. It was a faff, but it worked. A ring of plumber's mait was belt and braces.

Brilliant Product - Update
This is an update of the review I gave a week or so ago. I am still giving this product five stars because I believe the conical rubber seal is a great idea that worked very well for me. Originally I used the foam washer to seal between the top of the waste and the basin. However I found that after a few days water began to leak past this seal, so the basin gradually emptied even though the plug was in place. I removed the waste, and did the job again, but this time sealed under the top of the waste using plumbers mait. (I re-used the conical rubber washer). This time everything was fine - no hint of a leak. Therefore my advice to anyone using this kit would be to throw away the foam washer, and use plumbers mait to seal between the top of the waste and the basin.

Don't understand why these aren't standard!
Perfect. Makes a perfect seal between basin and clicker/plug bit. So much better than wasting time with sealant and plumbers mate. Should be supplied as standard with all sinks or wastes!

A brilliant product
I have tackled many DIY jobs, but not replacing a basin waste. Having read the opinions of many plumbers regarding silicone sealer, plumbers mait etc, I decided to give the Plumbsure Basin Sealer a try, because I didn't like the idea of waiting several hours for silicone to set, only to find a leak, which would mean having to start all over again. I used the white foam washer between the waste and the top of the basin, without any silicone. As others have said, the rubber part that goes underneath the basin is a tight fit on the waste, and you have to use washing up liquid or soap as a lubricant. The kit worked first time - no sign of any leaks. Well worth the £2 that I paid. I found a pair of 12" water pump pliers very useful for this job.

great product
Bought at 1900hrs drive home, then fitted and problem fixed 1932hrs - this is after 4 hrs of trying to fit new plug to new sink - 2 visits to plumb shop - who tried to help, but said use silicon if all else fail - Plumsure kit fitted the problem on a £600 wall mounted sink set :-) I am very happy - tips: rubber cone upward from bottom of sink ( this allows overflow to function, use washing up liquid to get rubber cone onto chrome down pipe ( as previous comment make sure you have enough thread on down pipe ) Thank you Plumsure - otherwise tomorrow was going to call a plumber The key problem with sink is the plug hole is not 100% ...... always
