Cheap and durable
I built a ground-level deck with these four years ago, and it's still going strong, with no signs of splitting or rotting (make sure you treat any cut edges though). OK, I had to use a smaller spacing than I probably would have with sturdier wood, but these are a fraction of the cost of most joists, so the deck still worked out considerably cheaper. They're a useful size for lots of other garden DIY tasks too, so I tend to keep a supply of these in my garage for use on other projects. As others have said, quality can be variable, so pick them out in person rather than ordering online.

Happy, but would buy in store.
Having read reviews, we decided to collect our joists rather than hope for the best with delivered ones. I sorted though the rack to find ones that were not warped or split so obviously I was happy. All fitted at 600mm spacing and the deck is solid. Only 4 stars as I had to sort through to find the good ones.

Decent cheap joist
Seems a decent cheap joist. It's only softwood, so dunno how long it will last in British climate, but it's straight, largely knot-free, easy to cut & screw.

Does the job
Bought over 20 of these for a small decking project, most were either split or warped, that said they were still usable and at the price did the job.

Hmmm bad quality
I today received my timber, every piece split, and actually no use to me

Good product
Nice and solid, without twist, easy to use. Emanantly fine for my ground level deck and probably other garden jobs as well.

Good quality
For the price this is good quality wood ideal for what we needed. Was used for the base of a deck path.

Exceptionally good value
I have used this component many times and if used with realistic joist centre width spaces it supported all of my six seater garden set even when all sat on without any noticable sagging. We are not exactly slim either! Just remember to give it an extra good preservative though becuse once built they will be out of reach. Thanx for an excellent product at a brilliant price.
