Post Supports
I bought 4 of these to hold treated timber posts to act as a frame for my lean to generator shed. They met the bill and although some have criticised the strength of these I found them to be fine. I tightened the nuts and they hold the timber rigid. I bedded mine on a brick base so that they don't sink into the ground and all seems fine. Once the generator is up and running I will see how they deal with the small amount of vibration that they may receive through the earth, will they stay in situ?

Measure it before you purchase it.
It was not until I had bolted down this item and inserted a 75mm x 75mm Post that it became apparent that the internal measurements were not as stated , They were in fact 80mm x 80mm nobody sells Post of that width !! Tightening the securing bolts to the limit left a gap on two sides that water would fill up. Where are your quality Control checks B & Q . I have now used four expensive Bolts and fittings that cannot be retrieved easily and the job is on hold until I can repurchase - and I might add not from B & Q.

very sturdy product!
I have installed 4 of these to support a garden fence intended to protect two young children from falling on a raised bit of the garden that drops off. It is quite sturdy and easy to install. There is no need to hammer in the fence post, as you do on other products. Time will tell how it fares the weather.

Replacement
Got these to replace the ones I had been on my gazebo legs .for at least 15 years only paid £8 more good value just the job

Perfect
Firstly a word about the staff at Newton Abbot branch; In all the years I have shopped at this branch I have never met any staff that were less than polite and helpful, my two more recent visits gave that and more, I cannot praise the staff of this store enough, they are brilliant!. The Fence post brackets; Easy to fit, perfect fit and strong enough to hold for decades. Would recommend both the branch and product.

Overall good quality
The actual post shoe were fin e for the job, but B&Q could have better quality control, as ther were 4 nuts missing off the bolts, good job I had same size nuts at home, ok you may say it's my fault I should have looked more carefully, but they shouldn't have been put out without anyone looking at them. I have gave good marks for the product as they were ok. Just short of nuts .

Not Very Strong
I am very disappointed with these brackets. The welds and the metal were ripped apart after a recent storm. I also used another brand of brackets on some of the other posts and these were ok.
