Dust extraction doesn't work!

I connected my vacuum to this and after much wrestling with a contracting hose I realised that the dust extractor connection is purely cosmetic; there is no air path to the saw, it is completely obstructed by the internal design. I feel totally cheated as i had wanted extraction capability. The tube of plastic on the end only serves to make the jigsaw longer and get in the way of clamps. It creates a lot of fine dust while using, and with no practical air extraction capability, this appliance is a potential health hazard. You will need a dust mask as well as ear defenders too use it. On the positives, the quick release feature makes blades easy to insert and remove.

So many things wrong

Ever heard the phrase you get what you pay for? Well this is a typical example of paying less and doing less. 1st off this is NOT designed for left handed people. All the dust is blown right in your face when using it (left handed) Mine actually stopped working after a few days so had to get a refund in store. (upgraded to a Dewalt and boy what a difference) Trying to cut a simple straight line was near impossible it kept veering off to one side even with new blades! Trust me when I say dont buy cheap because you will get cheap results!

Excellent value and accurate

Bought this to replace a Ryobi (which couldn't cut straight). Although it's budget, it feels well made and cuts very accurately.

Great value for money!

I bought this so that my son could do some intricate cutting through plywood. This tool did the job perfectly and was very easy to use. The variable speed feature was of particular use. I would recommend this jigsaw to anyone.

As a disabled person I find it very easy to use and very light

Great value for money!

I have a high end jigsaw, although it is packed away and just wanted a cheapie, this product fitted the bill and I must say, it is very well made, great value for money and we'll worth the few quid it cost for a throw around tool or for those that need one occasionally.

Great value

Bought for diy project, cutting various sheets mdf, blades not great, but jigsaw worked perfectly fine, including cutting curved profiles, had issue with blade change jam and took in branch where advisor fixed as had to hold jigsaw upside to to release mechanism

Not got one Sorry - 5 / 5 - 05/09/2017

Mac Allister are great for tools.

This replacement turns out to be so much better than my last jigsaw (not Mac Allister) It's so quick, quiet and efficient! Great price. My MacAllister pertrol mower is the best mower I've had in 40 years. Keep up the quality and low prices.

Good Value for Money

I bought this to cut some locking flooring. The Jigsaw comes with two blades, one for wood and one for metal. I did buy some additional blades for wood as I didnt' realise it came with blades. Attatching the blades is simple using a spring lock mechanism which is a lot simpler than prefious jigsaws I have used. Cuts well and, quickly ( just a light pressure needed ). Good trigger action with a locking button for those longer cuts - allows you to concentrate on what your cutting rather than keeping the saw running. So that's the good stuff. The bad points, this saw is very noisy, the motor generates a lot of air which is vented on the right hand side, if your left handed like me, then you end up with the dust being blown at speed in your face, unpleasent, unhealthy and distracting (hence the Ease of Use getting 4 stars) For Right handed cutters - you'll be fine, but you may want to use some ear plugs. t's inexpensive and exceeded my expectations for reliability, build and felt solid to use.
