Cheap Rubbish
Fail to power on after 1 year and used a couple of times !

Ok for minimal use
Works good if you don’t plan on using it much, my issue wasn’t with the battery but the plastic housing piece that covers the spool. After half an hour or so use it shreds it from the inside out. Don’t know how or why? Managed to source a spare and it happened again this year after 30minutes use, i would say its a faulty design so best going for a different model/brand to save your time and money

World NOT recommend!
I initially bought one of these in 2021 but once home I believed the twist grip to rotate the head was faulty so returned it to B&Q without issue. Staff there could not operate that mechanism either. I took home the second one having first tested it in the shop and it seemed fine but frankly it has never worked smoothly in the year I have owned it. By now I cannot slide open the twist grip without using an implement (a large pair of scissors or screwdriver) and I struggle EVERY time! It IS light weight, inexpensive and the battery has a long life but the strimmer cannot be utilised by me, a 68 year old woman with reasonable fitness levels.

Poor Battery
Like many others, after using three or four times in one year, the battery will no longer charge. Cannot find replacement. An utter waste of money. In future I will look for a trusted name. This isn't the first time MacAllister products have failed to live up to their promise. Unfortunately their prices reflect poor quality and engineering which makes me now consider how safe they are to use. Worth spending a bit more for something the works and will continue to do so more than a handful of times.

Love it!
Been using now consistently for 3 years. Nice and light, quick to charge only downside is unable to get replacement battery now current one is starting to fade a bit quicker. Wouldnt hesitate to buy another if i could find one in store.

Disappointed I only got 2 years use
I bought this product 2 seasons ago and I am unable to get it to work do you think I need a new battery I have to say it was a great trimmer and easy to use but disappointed I only got 2 years use

Cannot buy a replacement battery - waste of money
Don't buy - replacement batteries impossible to source, my battery lasted less than 2 years and now I will have to buy a replacement strimmer.

Good product with a few down sides
This is a great tool for a smaller sized garden, due the the battery length not lasting long. If you have a bigger garden you’ll be better off with a mains or petrol one.
