Iris sapphire beauty is easy to grow. Its blooms are extremely pretty; a rich blue with pale blue markings on the falls and a distinctive yellow mark on each petal. Ideal as a cut flower and in beds and borders

- Flowering period: April-May, Planting period: Aug-Dec
- Hardiness: H5 - Hardy in most places throughout the UK even in severe winters (-15 to -10°C)
- Best planted in a sunny position. Dig compost and bonemeal into the planting hole before planting. In heavy clay soils add horticultural grit to the bottom of the planting hole. Water well In the growing season, water plants in containers during dry spells. Allow foliage to die down naturally. Dutch iris will thrive in any well-drained soil, so avoid areas prone to waterlogging
