• In the first year the shoots should be shortened by about one third of the length to promote more branches and therefor more fruit, As the plant gets more mature in later years, cut out the old and diseased shoots, and any shoots that are growing in the wrong direction.
• Spring
• Ensure soil around plant roots remains moist for the first 6 months until the roots have grown into the surrounding soil, During periods of dry weather slowly apply a full watering can of water to the plant.
• Clear any fallen leaves in the autumn, and cover the roots with well rotted farm yard manure in the spring, feed regularly when in flower or fruit.
