Perfect for floating shelf
Bought this shelf to cut to size and use it as a floating shelf and worked without any problem as very good quality, cut and drilled through-thickness to insert floating shelf brackets with no issues at all.

Avoid the floating brackets
I bought this today. As with every other review, the brackets that are compatible with this shelf do not hold it up at all. The shelf leans down without any weight on it. The bracket is also not as deep as the hole pre-drilled in the shelf. The actual shelf itself looks lovely though - I will be keeping the shelves but returning the remaining brackets (sold separately) to store and finding a better alternative.

If you want some floating shelves alone for a minimalistic look with zero functional use i.e. putting things on then go for it

Useless brackets
Thought these looked better than the alternatives as the wood effect is quite good. Fitted with very good plaster board fixings but as with all the other reviews, the associated brackets aren’t up to the task. The shelf felt pretty precarious with about 6kg weight and leant away from the wall. The shelf itself looks good and with alternative brackets I am sure will take the weight.

Brackets totally useless
Asked in store about brackets to use and went away with the ones recommended on this page. Totally useless and as others have said shelf is not held in place but leans forward away from the wall. Cheers B&Q for not even stocking the fittings needed for your own products, nice one! Too bad zero stars isn’t available.

Floating shelves oak
Total waste of money, we bought 4 and they lean forward when up, we tried other fixing in the wall but still no luck so now have to go elsewhere and buy more

Rubbish
The fittings which should ensure the shelves are floating shelves are not fit for purpose. Total waste of money.

Absolutely useless
Bought this to fit in bathroom - fittings tight in the wall but yet it angles forward so much I have now had to put other brackets in to support so it’s no longer a floating shelf - criminal that these can actually be sold

Too thin
This shelf is designed to be supported by hidden brackets, but at only 20mm thick, there is insufficient depth to provide enough angle to prevent the shelf tipping forward under weight. Also, the pins it slides onto are not long enough to provide full support.
