Very "cheap and nasty"
They have tried to cut corners everywhere with this product. The side entry flush is so weak be carefuly not to snap its parts, we have reenforced ours with glue as worried it won't last! I would advise fitting the pipe before you install it, we had to bore out the centre hole as to allow the pipe further in to add strenth as the end almost snapped off!

Flush cone not to standard
This is my 2nd review having the cistern fitted for a few weeks now and the flush cone supplied is not up to standard, every time you flush, it and consequently the flush pipe come out a few mm's, several flushes and the pipe comes completely out of the bowl. First I added extra support behind the cistern thinking that this must be moving backwards on each flush and hence pulling the flush pipe and flush cone with it, this did not help, so I used my original flush cone and flush pipe and the problem was solved. Also one other problem was the plastic arm supporting the float ball kept getting stuck by the side of the siphon, first I tried to file down the arm and siphon, but then realised that by simply twisting the end of the inlet valve that has the connection to the arm, towards the back of the cistern, then attaching the arm to it gave ample room for the float ball to go up and down to open and close the inlet valve.

Cistern
If you are looking to replace a Fordham Elan cistern, 2 of the Fluidmaster mounting holes look like they are in alignment with the Fordham, but since they are slightly different dimensions, it is best to drill new holes, but if you need a baton/spacer, then an idea is to attach the baton to the cistern first, then find the correct position for the cistern, then drill through the middle of the baton through your wall and use this to hold everything in place, later you can replace 1 or more screws from the cistern/baton for longer screws that also go through the wall. The lever arm that goes between the C-link and flush handle is too long and as a result the handle sits in the air, but I used my old lever a shorter one, and now the handle sits horizontal to the cistern. The inlet valve arm sometimes gets stuck against the siphon, when you flush, it doesn't go down to open the valve, I used some hand nail clippers to trim off the excess plastic on the siphon to solve this problem. The hole at the side for the overflow pipe was too small for my existing connector as the contents bag did not include one, but the bag had already been opened, so someone may have taken this out. When I went back to B & Q to look at another one , it only had one hole on the RHS for the inlet valve, mine must have been an old model, but on the LHS the plastic appeared thinner to enable drilling if you need a hole there, though the internal overflow on the siphon does work.

Only buy if you want the water feed on the right.
I bought this a month ago. I had to drill a hole on the left side of cistern to match up with my pipework. Did not see that one coming! The cistern is flexible and I am still trying to resolve a minor leak from around the water exit pipe. I believe another rubber washer will cure it - just need time to go and buy one. Might be worth suggesting to supplier to supply two and fit one each side of the fitting.

Reasonable quality
Build quality good and easy to put together but two bad points the ballcock supplied is the wrong type it needs a slimline version and the connecting wire should be the longer one otherwise the handle sits at the wrong angle.

Light and simple to assemble and install. HAs ever
I have installed it. The only real problems were that the cistern is a little narrow so you need to take a little care to adjust the ball so that it does not touch the side. Also I could not fit the handle so that it was horizontal. The flush us up at 60 degrees and comes down to horizontal.

kids play
used this for the kids to play with water and gutters added chain for a high flush kids loved it in school, although wound;nt use it for a propper toilet.

Total rubbish
Cheap plastic tat. No instructions. Barely fits together without ball valve and valve clashing. Impossible to get handle horizontal. Only works if you can fix if directly behind the panel you want the lever to connect to. Plumber just laughed when he saw it. My advice: just throw your money straight down the toilet.
