• Soil moisture: Well drained
• Flowering period: May-September, Planting period: April-May
• Remove faded flowers to prolong flowering. Top dress with a general purpose plant food as the last flowers fade. Allow foliage to die down naturally. Liatris flower year after tear. Dahlia, Crocosmia, Iris, and Gladioli are not winter hardy and best grown for one season but can be overwintered frost free and planted the following year. Dig soil improver and bonemeal into the planting area before planting. In heavy clay soils add horticultural grit to the bottom of the planting hole.
