1st Dewalt saw
Right out of the box, put blade to a length of 2x4 pine. I went through all the basic tool instructions and operations, from blade install and tug check, and worked my way through the saws functions. Blade positions, speeds, bevel positions, dust blower and it all functioned as expected with no issues. So far very pleased with my new saw. What a pleasant experience from my old, out dated single speed jigsaw.

poor blade secure
my 331 will not hold blades. i cut about 1 " then the blade comes pit. i am using dewalt blades

Dust blower doesn’t work
If the 5.5 amp will do buy it and save the extra money for a fan because the dust blower doesn’t work on the 6.5 amp. I have to slow down or stop cutting to remove the dust manually because the line is covered up. T blades lock it easy and doesn’t fall out. On one of the cuts it drifted off the center line , but not on all cuts. Low vibration and smooth cutting. Would be great if the blower really worked , and hopefully the drifting cut will not happen again.

I agree... it shouldn't be called a "kit"
I'm disappointed... you'd think something called a Jig Saw Kit would come with at least one each of the basic types of blades. But the worst thing is the way the instructions show you how to use a dust port adapter that doesn't come with the kit, and doesn't even tell you how you might go about ordering one. I suppose it's called a kit because it comes in a carrying case. There is a small compartment in the case where you might keep the dust port adapter and blades once you've purchased them separately.

Very good jigsaw
The DW331 has a very powerful motor and cuts through 2x4s like a hot knife through butter. The features are all great and the settings and controls are easy to use and intuitive. I’m very pleased with the purchase and I know I have a durable professional power tool that will last for many years to come.

No anti splinter device either
Just got this saw, opened and read the directions. My saw did not have the anti splinter device as other reviewers have stated. The paper manual is poorly written. I had no idea what they are talking about with the flush cutting blade and that you must remove the anti splinter device which is not there.

Where is the user manual
Guys, I just need a copy of the user manual since like a lot of us guys lose the one with the saw. The web site runs me around in a circle but will not allow me to find a users guide for the saw. Why is this such a problem.

Easy to use
Just bought the jig saw and love it. So easy to replace the blade and start using it. Case is nice and not cheap. Only drawback, does not come with blades. Very happy with it.
