Lovely paint to use but the colour is brighter
Lovely products....it is watery but i like that about these paints. easy to go on and two coats was perfect, I also got this paint on offer so even better! I will say though that the colour is much brighter than expected and is more of a bluey mint green but for what i was using it for it turned out lovely but just be aware that this is the case.

Modern makeover for the garden.
To say I’m pleased with this product is an understatement! Such a gorgeous modern colour which has brought our garden right up to date! Heads up on a couple of points….. I would give the tins on the shelf a little shake to see how runny it sounds, we bought the same brand of paint but in a different colour and it was very runny compared to this colour. 🤷♀️ And “follow the instructions!” You are told to apply the second coat within 8 hours so make sure you do otherwise it doesn’t take! 🤦🏼♀️ Oh, and another thing, remember that all paints indoors or out change colour slightly at different times of the day, Muted Clay is no exception to this rule but it still remains gorgeous as the day goes by.

Definitely best on bare wood
This is not a bad garden wood finish, but it has some drawbacks in terms of what you might practically want from a garden finish. This is definitely best used only on bare wood. It can be made to work, but it's a pain, over a previous finish. Once you have previously used a finish that seals and films over the surface (as opposed to true stains or creosote-type preservers where the wood absorption is retained) then this is a frustrating finish to use. I used it for a garden table with bench which needed some serious restoration. It had previously been coated with Cuprinol "Garden Furniture Stain" (which is NOT a stain but more of a surface-film-forming paint). Some of the wood needed sanding right down to bare wood, in other areas the previous finish was fine, so I just sanded it enough to key the new finish in. The combined result was very disappointing. The back-to-bare wood came up nicely, with the grain showing through; the wood that was sanded-previous-finish was covered OK, but the two finishes looked very poor next to each other. It required a total of 5 coats to make the two look half decent together. Another complaint is beading. On second and subsequent coats the finish had a tendency to bead and pull away from the surface leaving uncovered areas. OK, it does say on the tin “if it beads, abrade the surface”. But that’s impractical if it only starts doing that half-way through your job, since now you’ve got a wet item to wait to dry, then sand, then re-start. And!!! … sanding the finish doesn’t stop it beading! In fact, I found that re-brushing the affected area was more effective at getting the finish to cover properly, especially if you left it until it just started to dry out. Also not great if you’re spraying rather than brushing. Ironically, I never had these problems with the previous Cuprinol “Stain”, which resulted in a better looking job, quicker, fewer coats and cheaper. Plus points, good coverage, brush picks it up nicely and comes off the brush onto the surface nicely, and easy to clean (water only). A bit splashy, so cover yourself and the surrounding area well.

Will not come off once on!
Bought two tins painted all the fence panels the shed and my garden furniture and can safely say it looks good. It's a little thick but that's good cos it means no drips. Got some on my pants t shirt and that really doesn't come out when you wash them so it's definitely staying on the fence etc

Best wood paint ever
Excellent coverage and long lasting. Painted our small shed with this and it looks amazing. Lovely rich colour. Also used Somerset Green which also looks fab. Simply the best! X

ok
The tin it came in is what I need to let you know about. It is the sort of tin that you need to, as B and Q should look to packaging for what you sell in store. A broom handle which I had dropped onto a tin of paint which I bought instore and smashed the top and caused paint to go all over the place indoors which is not good, so with that in mind, I will not buy anything else in Band Q anymore.

Not white (wash)
I ordered White wash on line and received the wrong colour Deep Russet had to go to Norwich south to change. Wash White did not cover the existing red cedar so back to the store to change to slate grey this was much better.
