A little too noisy
When used on the flame only setting, the unit emits an annoying low level hum, which can only be reduced by pushing the front of unit at various points. If the TV, Radio etc is on, you don't hear it, otherwise it's pretty audible. The 1/2 bar fan heaters simply sound like a typical fan heater, so no surprises there. Overall look is great but build quality is average.

Had to return
I was disappointed with this fire, it is difficult to see properly with such a tiny picture. I thought it was going to be glass fronted, but it wasn't. The 'coal' was very realistic, dirty and dusty! It just sat on a shelf so would have to be removed every time to dust it. I had to return it.
