This is all the base coat you need.
Unlike the poor reviews left claiming the paint is "too thin", like other paints, this paint needs to be mixed well prior to application. It has a somewhat "gritty" sediment that lies at the bottom of the pot if it isn't mixed well enough, resulting in poor, thin paint. I've used this paint throughout my 100 year old house and it's astonishing how much difference some thicker paint can do. TLDR; Mix well before use, ensuring all sediment at the bottom is mixed in and you'll have your walls/ceilings coated in no time.

Highly recommend
I covered a bright (and I mean bright) pink silk painted room with 2 coats. I then painted it matt grey - youd never even know it was pink! Then covered a deep purple wall with 2 coats. Goes on the wall well, goes further than you'd think and I would highly recommend!

Problem wall smoother
I'd been told about this so I thought I'd try it wish I hadn't it was very watery and splashed a lot

Oh how I wish I'd read reviews
What can I say? I had a problem wall and all this stuff did was paint it white (well, white wash it). Incredibly thin, dripped everywhere. Stinks to high heaven and didn't fix any of the problems on my wall. For the price, I was expecting a paintable surface in 24hrs. Pfft. Maybe after ten coats? Normal paint would have don't a better job Returned and got some skim stuff half the price.

Doesn't do what it says on the tin!
Says it "obliterates strong colours". No, it doesn't. It covered ok, but only about the same opacity as the Valspar emulsion I'd alredy bought which was nine pounds less for twice as much.

This product works
Tried this product out on walls and wood work and found it really really works. Followed instructions to the letter and had such amazing results that I will finish the rest of our internal paint work with it

Doesn’t do what it says on the tin
Bought this to cover stains and might as well have used emulsion because it does nothing like what it says. It also smells terrible! Would not recommend this product in the slightest.

Horrendous
I do wish I had read the reviews before buying this. It does not go on easily and the end result is not a good finish. It is sands off like polyfilla! We expected better looking walls not ones that need sanding down before painting.

Stinks when dry
I was convinced that a cat had got into our home when this had dried. It absolutely stinks!! I just hope the main paint colour will mask the smell. As for the product itself, needed 2 generous coats to cover peach walls. Covered small cracks but I wouldn’t say it smoothed very effectively. Expensive considering it’s not the best performer.

Smells like cat wee
Very thin, does not really cover fine cracks. Their own brand normal white paint does a better job. Stinks of cat wee when it dries. So glad my hallway and landing smell like cat wee.
