Good Quality
These could have done with some instructions as everyone else has said. They look like the way to get the two pieces apart is to put a screwdriver in the notch at the bottom but I think this will work only if the item is already fixed to a door. The way to do it is to put the screwdriver under the hole that has the metal lip on it at 45 degrees and lift. It will come apart easily.

Badly designed and impossible to fit
As other reviewers have indicated, this is an appallingly designed product and impossible to fit. I bought this in a hurry against better judgment as b & q products so often turn out this way. Wish I’d read these other reviews first and not bothered!

Unbelievable packaging fault!
I wish I read the reviews before buying this. Exactly as the others said, it is impossible to fit as you can’t separate the caps to reach the plates need screwing on the door. It is all due to very poor packaging. No idea if the product actually works as I have been unable to install after an hour of faffing to split the parts. I’ll be returning with a hefty in person feedback.

TERRIBLE AVOID. IMPOSSIBLE TO FIT
Worst quality locks I have ever tried to fit.. Had to give up in the end as are just such a hassle to fit. Can't believe how bad the quality can get. Appalling.

this product is rubbish
purchased some thumb locks for upstairs and downstairs toilet. No instructions. cant unscrew cover of parts to enable fitting to doors. Supplied screws unlikely to fit. In fairness we did buy some door handles to match and these were reasonable but still a faff to fit.. only thing is you need to apply vaseline or silicone grease to enable covers to screw back on. Items not cheap so expected instructions at very least. looks good and if you succeed in fitting then will maybe be good. Breaking news, did eventually remove caps but what a flipping nightmare.

Rubbish product. Don't bother.
No instructions on how to fit, only a few illustrations which are of a totally different product! Spindle is the wrong size - too wide to insert into the components of the lock. Would take is back to shop, but not worth the petrol for another trip. Get your act together B&Q!
