Product information
The colourcourage range of wall paints are based on the templates of the German designer and artist Lars Contzen. Contzen has travelled around the world in order to track down the perfect colours. He has captured the inspiration behind each colour in photographs and afterwards reproduces them with his own pastes and pigments, mixing them meticulously to achieve a unique hue to the paint. Each template is painted by hand and thus radiates the magic of the original colour. The chalky flat matt finish consists of high quality binders and pigments that ensure a robust finish with a unique depth and colour intensity.
- Surface Preparation - Before painting, the surface must be clean, dry and free from contamination. Fill surface defects with an appropriate filler, when dry sand down until smooth. Treat absorbent substrates with a sealer or primer, sand surfaces previously painted with gloss or silk paints with fine abrasive paper.

Genuinely! 1 of the worst paints used in over 33yr
Not sure how the user in the review , was successful ,even being apparently ,able!, to cover a dark colour partly in one coat... I have to agree with the original review ,where that persons also had a nightmare for coverage. 100% ive been painting since 1986....1993 NVQ Level II P&D....So i really do know whats what! This has to be one of the most bizarre paints ive ever used...No hyperbole....just facts!....The clear medium ,upon opening the tin...was 1.5"-2" above the color of the emulsion....I got my professional paint mixer, attached to Dewalt cordless and turned for at least 5 mins!....I knew then ,something was amiss... I literally ,was simply having to go over Magnolia of all colors...Not challenging! a simple neutral almost,Color. 4 coats laters and STILL , it hadnt bodied together ...The opacity of this paint is non existent... All i can image is this!....Either myself and the other buyer, ended up with awfully bad paint ,and rather than recall, it went on offer***..... Theres no pigment of any strength and no binders!.... So for me to give this review and the very favourable one on here by another user....Wht can be the answer?> as its 100% nothing to do with how i applied it...I only mentioned my qualifications, to give people the facts that ive dealt with heavy vicious paints and thin,,,,waterbased,solvents,oils...chemical 2 parts! and this hands down is in the top 3 worst ever for coverage and is beyond thin, its a joke! I had to go for the ochre b&q homebrand, which ive not used yet...but can tell already ,upon opening the pot, that its a sound solid paint....Gorgeous color as well...

Quality Paint
Started out buying cheap own brand paint from another retailer.. and though it was the colour I was after.. it was like water.. and needed to cover a darker shade. Having returned it.. I looked around for a more expensive paint in a similar colour. The only paint I could find that was anything like a close-ish match was this one. At the time I bought it.. most of the colours for this range had good reviews.. but this colour had 2 contradictory reviews.. one reporting a good experience in terms of coverage.. the other with bad experience of such.... So I was not sure what to expect. Went on with absolutely no problems though... Was noticeably much thicker and contained much more pigment than the previous paint I returned, and was a delight to paint with. The first coat (onto a darker shade surface) did extremely well at covering the old colour.. And the 2nd coat brought it to vivid solid life. Very impressed and would buy from this range again! Don't often write reviews.. but wanted to add positive review for others. Photos below are of the First coat (left side hallway).. and the original colour on wall (right side hallway)... This was newly applied.. and tones down more orange as it dries. And as said.. the 2nd coat was perfect. No hesitation recommending at all! : )

Great colour, easy application
The colour courage matt emulsion goes on easily, 2 coat needed for this colour - which is great.

Amazing colour
I bought this for my daughters playroom before reading the 1 star review, I was worried that it would take me multiple coats and I would be left with patchiness after what was wrote. I applied it like any other paint I’ve used, brush for the edges and roller on the main wall. It took me 2 coats and is completely opaque, I cant what the issue was in the other review. It applied as I expected, no issues. I’ve attached a photo to show how bright it has made our playroom.

spend all weekend putting on multiple coats
bought this Friday, to brighten up a wall in the bedroom, rather naively thought that being a premium paint it would be premium quality. The existing wall colour was standard magnolia from when we moved in, wall cleaned, holes filled etc. One coat....... nope, hardly made a dent, two coats...... nope still not right, three coats....... starting to get there, colour is vibrant, and really pops, but I suspect it will be four coats- stop press four coats hasn't done it- and five coats before it looks how it should. Just disappointing what I thought would be a relatively quick job, has turned into 2 days in the big brother house as I organise my life around putting another coat on.
