Mixed product
I bought this product last week. Much of the slate had crumbled so was much smaller than the advertised size. There was a lot of plum slate Dust and I mean an excessive quantity of fine crushed slate that was unusable. There was also a lot of a white stone that was completely different to the slate that I had to pick out. This was a test bag and I will be finding an alternative supplier to get the rest of my skate from. Very disappointed.

A bit disappointing
I bought 6 bags and 5 out of 6 had white stone chipping mixed in so annoying. Also says plum but grey if not wet and not that plum when wet.

Plum chippings
Bought more of these as the level had over time reduced. A lot smaller than the existing chippings but in fact better as the area they were bought for is quite narrow so looked good.

Perfect finish
Perfect finish, have used these slate clippings to edge a garden path and for our garden swing bed to stand on.

Purple stones
They are a bit mucky when you put them out but one rainstorm later and "hey presto" they are purple. Don't forget to lift with your knees, not your back.

Terrible!
I've just spent ages cleaning this stuff off, expected it to be quite dirty, but this was sludge, about 10% was sludge and so many tiny pieces, not very consistent sizes, bought a few years back from B&Q and the the same manufacturer and not fantastic, but it's worse than it used to be! I will buy from a different company in the future and will be needing enough for 120 x 60 ft. and 18" wide garden border so they will be missing a good sale!

Durable garden slate
Very pleased. I wanted a top up for some decorative slate. The bag I bought was reduced - yippee - real bonus. Great product.

Ok but some bags contained sand?
I bought a few of these bags to top up existing slate, unfortunately once opened and emptied two bags out of five had considerable amounts of sand, I managed to sprinkle the slate to make it sink. Not ideal but it worked.
