20% sludge
Disappointing quality either 20% sludge or dust in the couple of dry ones

Erratic Quality
I bought a bag one week ago, having bought many bags in the past 5 years. I was disappointed to see such a distinctive drop in the quality of the slate chippings. In particular, there were pebbles in the bag - standard stone pebbles, not slate pebbles - and the bag had what could only be described as slate dust. This slate dust had the size and consistence of wet sand, only that it was a blue colour. Only buy it if you are prepared to sift out the pebbles and the slate dust.

poor quality
We bought 10 bags this to fill border round paving. Very disappointed with the amount of stone in every bag. More than a bag full of stone within the bags we bought.

Not blue but Plum
This is a Plum colour, not blue. I had to wash some pieces to see the real colour.

good colour, especially when wet
When I purchased this I bought 4 bags. I was disappointed in the coverage. Obviously partly my own fault as I misread how far a bag would go. Due to how thin slate is you need a lot to have a depth of 25mm. Very expensive if your trying to cover even a moderate area. So I revered to plan B.
