Flat Metal bar; job done!
Easy to cut with junior hacksaw, and easy to drill in to (with sharp HSS drill bits). Covered in a protective coating to stop from rusting in store, but easily painted over with black hammerite. I used the bar to replace a corroded bracket between a bus seat frame and the floor in a restoration project.
