Still A Strong Contender for Good Wi-Fi
Bought this to replace a good router, however, it seems that the firmware isn’t being updated anymore, which is important when considering security. The ASUS is, admittedly a few years old since it’s introduction. However, ASUS still support this router with those all-important security updates. Long may it continue. The Wi-Fi strength throughout our compact 2 storey house is good. What I really like about the ASUS is the interface. It is very fast and gives you a lot of options that make it very versatile. The router is very easy to set up but there is also enough to satisfy “techie” folks like myself. I really like this router.

Set up
I cannot get the ASUs app to sync with my new router and the Aimesh option in the GUI is missing.

Setup and DDNS problems for which i give a 3 star
Installation was straightforward and went well with help from my internet provider - I would have preferred to have received installation instructions for the setting the various parameters required to get the device up and working. It is working fine and boots in quite good time. I have given only 3 stars for lack of setting up instructions and DDNS which fails to work on many sites that i have had no previous difficulty with. After many attempts i eventually get a site but in many cases I just abandon. I use my internet connection all day long and this router has performed very well. I also use other ASUS products e.g. motherboards in my computers and the hardware quality is great and trouble free. I will recommend the ASUS hardware products to anybody.
