Great door for a great price.

I purchased this door hesitantly because of the mixed reviews and I was pleasantly surprised at the great quality for the price. Arrived with no damage or flaws. I painted it with two coats of satin wood paint and it came out smooth and looks great in my bathroom. I tried using a foam roller alone but that was leaving too much texture due to the very smooth, primed finish, so rolled the paint on and then carefully smoothed it out with long, even brush strokes. Very pleased with the results. It is a fairly heavy door at just under 30 kilos and has some particle board bits on the top so I was concerned it wouldn’t be suitable for top hanging as a pocket door, but the section needed for the hanging hardware was solid wood and the hardware is holding very well. Sturdy door and lets great light in and out of rooms without compromising privacy. I just ordered another one for my bedroom.

Poor workmanship

The Panel Shaker door was very badly constructed with the joints being what appeared to be Polyfilla. Glass although obscure had one corner was mottled but clear. The door looked shoddy and would have required a lot of work doing to it. Returned item (eventually) now just waiting for a refund.

Don't buy this door

Very disappointed with the quality of this item. If we weren't already committed to getting a door up to enable other work to be done we would have sent it back. Both faces damaged and an attempt at a repair made before it was delivered, it should never have lef the warehouse. We have been able to patch it up but it is not what we expected. The joinery is poor with filler required before painting. Extra sanding needed around door glass also required.

glazed door

Just what we wanted, lets the light through but you still have privacy if you want it.

Poor.

This door turned out to be of very poor quality. When our carpenter came to fit it he pointed out there was movement of the side rails relative to the top and bottom rail . Being a professional he would not be happy hanging it as he doubted it would last long before it fell apart. I returned the item for a refund.

Looks good, but needs a recessed handle

Sturdy and good looking door, can imagine once painted it would look stunning. It was fitted by our builders as part of a kitchen refurb, so cannot comment on installation etc. However, at this price point I think it is unacceptable not to have a handle and having to open it by grasping on the frame or glass, or having to drill one yourself...

needs obscure in the description

Same as the previous reviewer, my wife ordered it and was surprised it was frosted glass. I have fit it but struggling to get used to the door. Not the best quality door for the money, there is only about 6mm of solid timber if you need to plane down, then your into the chipboard stiles.
