Stonecare4U Slate Sealer Satin Finish is a high-performance stone sealer formulated especially for natural slate surfaces. It is also suitable for other porous natural stones such as limestone and sandstone (*exceptions apply). It certainly provides a hard-wearing, attractive satin finish that can intensify natural colours and gives a stain-resistant coating. The product may be used on external or internal surfaces.
Clean sealed areas with a mild, ph neutral cleaner or a very low concentration of our outdoor cleaner range. Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaning agents, as this can have a negative effect on the treated surface. Not recommend for use on highly polished stone & ceramic glazed surfaces.
*Please note this product is not suitable for Kandla Grey (mid & light grey) sandstone.

Features and benefits
Remove any loose debris from the work surface before you start and ensure adequate safety wear, i.e. gloves, suitable protective eyewear, face mask & clothing.
Leave the surface for a minimum of 72 hours with clear and dry weather to ensure the surface is completely dry and ready to be sealed; in addition, make sure weather conditions are favourable before commencing.
Apply Slate Sealer Satin Finish thinly and evenly with either a low-pressure sprayer, micro-fibre mop, paintbrush or soft cloth, taking care not to leave application marks or allow the product to puddle on the surface. Do not dilute!
Allow between 45 and 60 minutes of drying time before applying the second coat, repeating the same process; apply the product in the opposite direction to help to achieve an even consistent finish. More coats can be applied if necessary to achieve a “gloss” finish.
Please Note: Slate Sealer Satin Finish may change the colour/appearance of some surfaces – always try the product in an inconspicuous area prior to use. Surfaces that are not to be sealed should be protected with masking material.

- The product is however versatile, able for use on a range of hard, porous surfaces such as limestone and sandstone.
- Gives off a superb satin finish which is not only attractive but hard-wearing and works to intensify the natural colours of the stone. Apply more coats where you would like to achieve a glossy finish.
- The sealer also offers a degree of protection against unsightly horrors like green growth, moss, algae, lichens, food spills and even oil spills, though any spills should be cleaned immediately
- Average 4-6sq metres per litre on textured and riven surfaces. Up to 15sq metres per litre on smooth, honed or polished surfaces. Coverage will vary depending on surface porosity.
