SUNFLOWER YELLOW PYGMY
Helianthus Annus 'Yellow Pygmy' - These single yellow flowers with their yellow/gold centres are ideal for any garden. Long Lasting. Prefers full sun.
CHARACTERISTICS:
Height: 50cm-60cm
Exposure: Fullm sun
Flowering Time: May onwards
Garden Uses: Great for mass planting in borders, can be grown in containers
Attracts: Birds, bees, butterflies and other pollinators
Hint: Experiment with plantings staggered over 5 to 6 weeks to keep enjoying continuous blooms. If you see birds scratching around for the seeds, spread netting over the planted area until seeds germinate.
GROWING INSTRUCTIONS:
Starting Indoors - February - March
Sow seeds 1cm deepin trays of moist compost. Be acreful not to overwater. Store in a warm place at an approx. temperature of 15-16oC. When the seedlings are strong enough to handle they can be transplanted into bigger pots or trays. Do not overcrowd the plants and keep in a warm, light position. Once all chance of frost has passed the plants can be tranplanted direct into your desired location in May. Harden off first.
Sowing Outdoors - March - June
Sow seeds 1cm deep in flowering location, thin to above spacings.
